Vertical Rhythm of Balconies
The L-shape block typology enlivens the street with frequent ground-level entrances and façades punctuated by 6-storey volumes, forming balconies created from a system of frames that establish vertical rhythm. Exterior walls consist of locally made brick with a beige pigment. In certain areas, bricks are used to form lattices for solar-radiation reduction, adding another aspect of thoughtful design over the façade.

Optimization
In order to reduce energy consumption and comply with the London Energy Transformation Initiative LETI, SWAPP performed hundreds of facade simulations. This resulted in use of materials with high thermal mass. This reduces substantially the use of mechanical equipment such as cooling and heating services.
The fundamental road for Net Zero Energy.
Balconies Finely Integrated with Brickwork
Black steelwork is employed as sheltering elements with the frame openings creating highly desirable balconies protruding from the brickwork surface.
Pleasant Indoor Climate - Naturally
Along with being flexible, economic, and well-balanced, bricks combined with an external thermal insulation system represent high-quality and durable protection as brick is a heavy material that stores heat and cool air. The indoor climate remains pleasant due to the window detail that allows low thermal transmittance, saves energy, and absorbs humidity.
